This standard zoom lens smoothly transitions from wide angle to short telephoto focal lengths equivalent to 35.5mm to 67mm in a 35mm format. Through the zoom range, it maintains a constant f/4.5 maximum aperture and can stop at f/32. It uses a 3-group zoom system for providing high delineation performance that is stable over the entire zoom range. It offers a minimum shooting distance of only 0.5m. The AF/MF operation can be performed quickly by simply sliding the entire focus ring forward or backward, while the manual focus operation can easily be altered after AF to allow for fine focus adjustments. As well, an eight-blade diaphragm creates even out-of-focus areas in images.
